The Philippine Basketball Association is now accepting applications for the 2015 PBA D-League Rookie Draft, according to tournament director Eric Castro.
Applicants must be 17-26 years old to be eligible for the Draft scheduled on November 12, 2015. All applications must be submitted at the PBA Office at 186 E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave., Bagumbayan, Quezon City.
Castro said Fil-foreign players can submit their application and requirements until October 23 while deadline for local born applicants is October 29.
The PBA D-League kicks off its 2016 season in January with the staging of the Aspirants’ Cup.
Teams interested in joining the season opening conference can submit their letter of intent until Sept. 21, 2015.
Players who dream of making it to the PBA are required to play in the D-League to be eligible for the PBA Rookie Draft.
In a related development, Castro revealed that a new guideline prohibits school-based teams from fielding “imports”.
“We’ve seen the last of foreign players last conference. Under our new guidelines, they will no longer be allowed to play for school-based teams effective next season,” Castro said.
